Our history started as Lunstar as we got sponge filtration widely available to the market. So being in every specialty aquarium shop. As time went on, we were known in the fish breeding community for the most efficient way to filter aquariums for the pricing. Compared to any other filter on the market pound for pound you get more filtration per dollar spent. 
We first stated with USA legal patent on our filter line, but as our popularity grew we found out what can happen to a successful US manufacture. Our design was copied by others and sent over to China to be massed produced and discounted. Now a sponge filter is common in the hobby and it all started from Aquarium Technology Inc. We found there was no way to combat the patent infringement and still keep these filters aviaiable to the market.
Don't be fooled by the same design discount sponge filters. They may have our design, but they don't use our sponges. 5x more dense and even our coarse is efficiently denseness holding far more than knock off sponges. We also supply replacement parts where no one else does.
