Filtration for the modern aquarium
The Filter Max Pre-Filter filters the water before it reaches the main filter. Provides both mechanical and biological filtration. Aerobic bacteria colonizes the sponge, providing the bacterial substrate to facilitate the nitrogen cycle.

Coarse Filter 10 PPI
Can be used on most all hang on the back filters and standard aquarium pumps.
Maintenance
Rinse the sponge with cool running water weekly. Do not use hot or cold water as this will destroy the bacteria which colonize the sponge.
Do not use soap or detergent when rinsing the sponge
